About the Bylsma Foundation

The Bylsma Foundation is a nonprofit private foundation approved by the IRS to receive tax-deductible contributions. All donations made are fully tax deductible. * The purpose of the Foundation is to help people in need, promote justice in the world, seek and spread the truth, help others understand the stories and meanings of the Bible, and encourage those who need good news.

The Foundation receives 90% of the net income generated from the sale of products related to The Short Bible and has very limited overhead (less than 10%). In addition, we receive donations from organizations, foundations, and individuals. The funds are then distributed to other nonprofit organizations to support activities that are consistent with the Foundation’s purposes. In some cases, in-kind contributions (e.g., copies of books) are made to nonprofit organizations for free distribution to targeted recipients.

The Foundation is proactive in identifying organizations whose work is consistent with the Foundation’s purposes. The Foundation will distribute funds and in-kind goods to organizations that provide requested information about how Foundation resources will be used. An application for Foundation grants will be available in 2023, and all applications are carefully reviewed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors to ensure the responsible use of the funds or products. More information about the Foundation’s activities in 2022 will be available in 2023.
